"Can you imagine?"
Today my middle daughter (the one who is the MOST lively, crazy person I know and who also wears her heart for the world to see) looked at me and said, "Mom, can you imagine being an orphan? I mean, not having anyone to love or love you back? Can you imagine even being a teenager and on your own without anyone?" My response (through tears) was, "No, honey, I cannot." I could see her wheels turning.
Many times she has told me that she wants to be an actress when she grows up. If you knew this girl, you would know that she'd be the next star- no doubt. A year ago or so she began telling me that she wanted to make a difference and that she thought maybe God was calling her to do something with orphans. Ask her today and she'd probably say that she will act for the orphans or something nutty like that. I don't know what God has planned for her, but I KNOW He will use her in mighty ways. She has the heart. The passion. And the ability to grab people just with her smile.
I am moved once again tonight to STAND UP for the orphan....every 147 MILLION of them!! I have my spunk back. God, thank you for sending me this angel to remind me. All along it's been right in front of me....thank you for the reminder.
"Mom, can you imagine......?"
In Him,
E
PS- You should see sweet, baby boy light up when she walks into a room. They have this amazing connection. All she has to do is look his way and he cracks up! Seriously, she has that affect on people. God has BIG plans for our girl!

Well, done, mom. You're tuning in to the gifts that have been bestowed by our Almighty Father. Sometimes we're so busy that we miss those important moments. Isn't it exciting to think of the work she could do for Him, while utilizing her gifts?
yes adoption is a gift for anyone child or parent that cares to unwrap the present!
Elisabeth, this is so sweet! Praise the lord! Angel boy is giggling! Oh i can't wait for that! Hunter hasn't started to laugh knowingly .. he will laugh a little but its just a little squeek really. When Did he start!
I knew it would come back...sometimes it's just covered by pain...when our plans didn't work out the way we'd envisioned.
aw, i love that! you are obviously doing a spectacular job with your kiddos. =)
love this post :)
You know I follow a blog called, A place called Simplicity, Anyway i was reading a post there recently about how Jesus is reaching out to the next generation(your daughter) about the importance of adoption and how we are to take care of the orphan. I guess our generation isn't doing all it can, so to the children Jesus goes. I just thought it was interesting that you should write about something so similar as to the other blogger. My children have also shown a great interest and compassion towards orphans and adoption.
What a beautiful post...I can see how much you love your family. Blessings in all you do.
In Christ,
Elizabeth
