Is it really okay?

Who said it was really okay to call a surgical patient's family just 4 days prior to surgery to tell them that $5,400 must be paid TODAY for surgery to happen Friday?!! Really, we have NEVER heard from them- no calls, no mail- until today. The lady who called is filling in and didn't know why we hadn't been called and couldn't find any record of them ever trying to contact us. Over the past several weeks I have called our insurance company several times making sure certain things were going to be covered, finding out out-of-pocket expenses and other things that make you feel all warm and fuzzy, but I've never heard from the surgeon's office. UGH!

Prayers please. Off to dig pennies out from under sofa cushions....
In Him,
E

Your sweetie qualifies for a waiver! regardless of family income! And then whatever you might have to spend now should be reimbursed to you. let me try to find you a link and I will e-mail it to you.

hmmm,I have never encountered an office that would not make payment arrangements. They often call for the co-pay prior to procedures but are usually fine with a partial payment and a payment schedule. I would talk to someone else.

We experienced this many, many, MANY times during Markana's treatments. Like the time insurance called us in the morning to tell us Markana's procedure later that afternoon, IN HOUSTON, wasn't approved.

We love you guys and are thinking of you all week.

I know exactly what you mean. I was in the doctor's office the morning of a procedure and they were like, so can you pay us $2,000 today? I said, um, no. We don't have that. So we set up a payment plan and it was not a problem. Hope it all works out for you!
