I am a self diagnoser (I may have even made up that word). Now granted, 92% of the time I am wrong. This time I believe I am right, though.
About 10-12 days ago I was bitten. At first I thought it was just another annoying mosquito bite. For a very brief time it itched but then it became quite painful. Yes, I SHOULD have gone to the doctor but I didn't. I will add here that I would be out in public and people would say "what happened to your leg?". Complete strangers!! I'd never ask someone "what's wrong with you?" which is what I felt they were asking. Anyway, the bite became a huge knot and was very irregular in shape and size. And it HURT! It still hurts to move my leg in certain directions. The bite is on my calf.
Last night, I decided that I was going to diagnose myself. Several people have wondered if I was bitten by a brown recluse. I sure hope not because those things are deadly!! Or so I thought. Yes, they are deadly if there is a lot of venom involved. But you can be bitten and live. Hallelujah!! And thank goodness I'm not one of the victims whose flesh is rotting away (I warned you- weak stomach?!).

It has been almost 2 weeks and here's my leg. I've read that it could take up to 6 weeks to completely heal. Mine doesn't look as bad as some but worse than others. At it's biggest it was about the size of a half dollar. No wonder people were asking what was wrong with me!! Praise the Lord it is healing, though!!
Did I mention, I dislike spiders!!
In Him,
E

Eeekk-I have never heard of that. Is it a big spider?
I don't hate spiders because they eat flies, but I hate it that they feel the need to bite us!
What's up with that???
One of my questions for God someday!
I used to get spider bites a good bit when I was in high school and they would turn purple and I would have a big knot, too...and very itchy! The doctor told me to put cortizone cream on it...even after it was itchy...and it helped it clear right up. Maybe that would help? Hope it gets better soon!
